Prophetic Deliverance

And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free
In Christian eschatology, the return of Jesus has been wondered about, predicted, made the subject of bestselling books  and even featured in movies based on such books and has been the subject of many gospel songs.  The Christian world debates when the rapture will occur and whether it is set in a pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation or post-tribulation context.  I am of the post-tribulation view, but I will not venture into that in this post.  What is evident is that a considerable amount of time has elapsed since Jesus’ death and resurrection and he has yet to return.  In my post Prophetic Reality, I stated that a deliverance must once again be effected, but before that deliverance takes place there must be the restoration of all things. A major part of the restoration of all things is the restoration of the truth.  As a demonstration of this I will once more focus on Elijah and his confrontation with the prophets of Baal.
I wrote extensively about Elijah in my post Prophetic Speaking and Backing Part 2 so I will not layout the background here to that extent.  To briefly sum up, Elijah had challenged the prophets of Baal promoted and sponsored by idolatrous King Ahab and his wife Jezebel. It was like a showdown at high noon at the OK corral.  It was one righteous man against a confederacy of evil and lies.  Here are the scriptures I want to highlight. “And Elijah said unto all the people, come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.  And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:   And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. (I Kings 18:30-32) .  .” The statement I want to spotlight in these scriptures is “And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down."
In the course of Israel’s history under the rule of King Ahab, the altar of the Lord had been left to disintegrate in the wake of the erection of altars to false gods, so that before Elijah could deliver Israel from the tangle of idolatry he had to first repair the altar of the Lord which represented the truth of who He is as opposed to the falseness of Baal.  When the altar of the Lord is broken down lies are able to take root and the longer the altar has been broken the more tangled the web of lies become.
This is our situation in the world today in regards to history and Israel.  I am willing to go all in as in a high stakes poker game, that the return of Jesus cannot happen under a tent of lies for it is the devil who Jesus dubbed the “father of lies.” (John 8:44) So it is the altar of truth that must be reestablished before the prophetic deliverance of Israel and the culmination of the age can occur.   Once the altar is repaired and the purveyors of deception are destroyed, then once again the Lord can send the rain.

  1. First of all, let us begin repairing the altar of truth by understanding there will be no miraculous "rapture". The Scriptures clearly say that the faithful servants of the Most High will have to go through the "great tribulation" mentioned at Matthew 24:33. To survive that "great tribulation" will require God's servants to make him their tower of protection. (Ps. 91)
Secondly, another truth I would like to share is that the Christ has already "returned", but because of the European influence on our spiritual thinking ability, we have been led to believe the Christ has not yet returned, because he has not appeared in the sky.
We must not make the same mistake the first Century Israelites made about Messiah. Too many were expecting the Son of God to liberate them from Roman domination and return Israel to it's previous magnificence. The prophecies they were hanging their hats on were prophecies to applied to a future time, not their time. pointing to regarding Israel's restoration did not apply to that time, but to a future time.
Similarly, today we have been conditioned by European thinking to expect the Son of God's "return" to be announced by his descent down out of heaven visibly and carrying out the judgement of his father, the Most High.
This is not what he told his disciples when answering their questions about "the end time". They asked what would be the "sign of his presence", not his appearance to the naked eye. If he was going to appear physically, why would they be asking for a "sign"? Nevertheless, the Christ answered their questions with a long, detailed account of what to look for. From Matthew 24:4 thru 28 the Christ details events leading up to the "great tribulation". He describes the coming of "false Christs", world wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilences, and the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem, the scattering of God's people, the gospel being preached worldwide, the coming "great tribulation", etc.
Then in verse 29 the Christ talks about what will happen "immediately after the tribulation" "then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn.." His appearance to the physical eye occurs "after" the tribulation, which has not really begun yet.
All of the signs he gave that would lead up to the "great tribulation" have or are being fulfilled before our very eyes. Yet, just as he foretold, most of mankind has "eyes, but cannot see". Just like those who perished in the Flood of Noah's day, they are "eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood cam and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
I could not agree with you more in your statement that "it is the altar of truth that must be re-established before the prophetic deliverance of Israel and the culmination of the age can occur." In order for that "altar of truth" to be re-established means we must re-examine everything we have been taught by the European, who is the instrument of Satan, the "father of the lie".
I do hope and pray that you will contemplate these thoughts in our mutual desire to seek truth. Shalom, dear sister.
